The research project comes from the Health Department of «Generalitat de Catalunya» -Program of Maternal and child health, to have an impact on prematurity, and to develop within the program a prevention protocol to improve the care in prematurity and a guide for parents of preterm newborns.

Aim

To detect the educational needs of the families with preterm newborns that participate in the procedures of taking care of their children in the neonatology units, in order to design an advice guide for parents of preterm newborns.

Specific aims

• To improve the coordination of the health resources available that focus their activity in preterm newborns in order to avoid duplicities in controls, annoying both children and families.
• To detect the education and information needs for the parents in the neonatology units.
