This research aims to describe the facts and situations lived by the parents regarding the birth and the hospital admission of their newborn child with Hypoxic-Ischemic Enchephalopathy (HIE) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in order to identify the information needs and the assistance to the families, to be able to develop and add the improvement elements for the holistic care during the treatment at the NICU.
